Dr. Nayana Nair is an interdisciplinary researcher with a Ph.D. in International Relations and Library and Information Science from Mahatma Gandhi University. Her dissertation, "Big Data in International Relations: A Study of Indo-US Twitter Diplomacy (2016-2020)," examined the intersection of social media, data analytics, and diplomatic practices. An alumna of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), she earned her Master's in Library and Information Science (MLISc) with a gold medal and holds a Bachelor's in English (Hons.) from The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU). She is also a UGC-JRF awardee. Her professional engagements span institutions such as the Central University of Kerala, P.N. Panicker Foundation, and IIT Gandhinagar, where she contributed to projects on digital libraries, innovation, and the history of mathematics. Her research focuses on big data, social media diplomacy, digitization, manuscript preservation, and metadata. She has authored several publications, reflecting her commitment to advancing scholarly and practical understanding in these domains. Her work bridges technology, information science, and global relations, positioning her as a dynamic and impactful academic.
Ms. Rugmini Devi M is presently an ICSSR Doctoral Fellow at the Department of Political Science, University of Kerala. Additionally, she serves as a CLAS Exchange Fellow at the University of Brasilia, Brazil. Her research delves into the correlation between bilateral relations and firm-level technology transfer. Her focus lies on the political and policy dimensions of international technology transfer to the Global South, particularly India and Brazil, aiming to underscore the importance of international cooperation in technology diffusion, especially in areas with social ramifications. She has a Bachelors in Social Sciences from Tata Institute of Social Sciences and Masters in Political Science from Department of Political Science, University of Kerala. She has authored research papers spanning innovation studies, the political economy of technology, and development studies. She also serves as the Assistant Editor of Journal of Polity and Society, a bi-annual journal published by the Department of Political Science, University of Kerala. She has also worked as a researcher in the field of development studies, migration studies, gender studies and sustainable development.
Joice Vargheese is currently conducting research on the topic "Political Economy of Technology and Labour Relations in Digital Labour Platforms in Kerala" at the University of Kerala. Previously, he completed his Master's in Development and Labour Studies from the Centre for Informal Sector and Labour Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
